FAQs

Timing:
Generally, the Lodge Room is available outside of scheduled lodge meetings and events, and the Club Room is available outside of normal club hours. Check with the Events Manager for current availability and scheduling. All events include a setup and cleanup window on either side of the event. A $250 refundable deposit will be scanned at the bar when you arrive and is only charged if cleanup or reset isn’t completed.

Number of attendees:
If your guest count is over 75, both liability insurance and security are required. I’ve attached a one-pager with information about the insurance. You can usually obtain it through your homeowner’s policy for around $100.

Security:
You can designate someone from your group to monitor the door for the first hour or two, ensuring only invited guests and Elks members enter. After that, doors are locked, and guests can ring the doorbell to be buzzed in. If you prefer, you may hire a professional security guard instead.

Alcohol:
If you are in the Lodge Room, you can have the Blind Elk bar open. If you are in the Club Room, that is the Jolly Corks area. Bartenders are $25/hour. You can host an open bar, have guests pay individually, or cover certain beverages (for example, beer and wine only). Just let the bartender know your preference when you arrive. Please note that no outside alcohol is allowed on the premises.

Food:
Our in-house caterer is Event Assassins (Rob MacKenzie, rob@event-assassins.com, 303-598-9916). They will handle everything — plates, utensils, setup, and cleanup. They are lovely to work with and can work within almost any budget size. If you contact them, provide a budget range so they can provide a reasonable quote.

If you prefer to bring your own food, you’ll need to provide all serving items and handle setup and cleanup (no crockpots are allowed). There’s no access to the commercial kitchen, storage, or refrigerators.

Music:
If you are in the Lodge Room, you’ll need to provide your own sound equipment, speakers, and cords. We have one microphone for speaking only (not for playing music). In the Club Room we have Pandora radio controlled by the bartender. You can make requests or create a playlist and share it with the Lodge to play.

Parking:
Our lot is free, and there’s plenty of street parking nearby. There’s also a lot kitty-corner from the Lodge that’s only $4/day. Since our Lodge opens to members most days beginning at 5:30 p.m., parking can’t be reserved exclusively for your guests after 5:30pm.
