INTRODUCTION

Our Mission: To inculcate the principles of Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity; to recognize a belief in God; to promote the welfare and enhance the happiness of its Members; to quicken the spirit of American patriotism; to cultivate good fellowship; to perpetuate itself as a fraternal organization, and to provide for its government, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America will serve the people and communities through benevolent programs, demonstrating that Elks Care and Elks Share.

Our Purpose: This Fraternal Order was founded “to promote and practice the four cardinal virtues of charity, justice, brotherly love, and fidelity; to promote the welfare and enhance the happiness of its members; to quicken the spirit of American Patriotism and cultivate good fellowship.

SCHOLARSHIP DESCRIPTION

ELKS 17 Scholarship – $1,000 (ELKS 17 child or grandchild)

A total of four scholarships will be awarded to students who meet the following criteria:

  • Scholarships will be awarded to a child or grandchild of an ELKS 17 member, in good standing, for students entering their 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of a college/trade/apprenticeship program.
  • Applications will be evaluated on academics and essay response.
  • Scholarships may be renewed but not guaranteed to former scholarship recipients.
  • Scholarship checks will be sent directly to the university or trade school
  • Scholarships are awarded based on full-time enrollment

ELKS 17 Scholarship – $1,000 (ELKS 17 friend or relative)

A total of four scholarships will be awarded to students who meet the following criteria:

  • Scholarships will be awarded to a student who is a relative or friend of an ELKS 17 member, in good standing, for students who are entering their 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of a college/trade/apprenticeship program.
  • Applications will be evaluated on academics, need, and essay response.
  • Scholarships may be renewed but not guaranteed to former scholarship recipients.
  • Scholarship checks will be sent directly to the university or trade school
  • Scholarships are awarded based on full-time enrollment

Applications are due Friday, March 17, 2023 by 5:00 pm
